Amber Teething Necklace Giveaway

Welcome to the Amber Teething Necklace Giveaway!

Sponsored by: Amber for Babies

Hosted by: Gloriously Green Gal & Savory Savings

Baltic Amber has been long used for pain relief, most commonly in America, as a soothing mechanism for infants and toddlers that are teething.  These necklaces made from the Baltic Amber are not for chewing on as the name might suggest, but provide relief from the interaction of the amber and your body’s natural warmth.  This interaction causes a release of an oil with healing properties, succinic acid.

Krista from Gloriously Green Gal and Savory Savings checked out the amber necklace with her daughter who recently had flu with muscle soreness and definitely saw a difference!  Check out her full amber necklace review to get the scoop!

How to Raise a Happy Child (plus a giveaway!)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Have you ever looked at your child and wondered, "What the heck am I doing?"  For me, that's almost a daily occurrence.  Babies aren't born with a how-to guide strapped to their back (Thank goodness for that, I'd rather not give birth to a book!) and each child is different.  Parenting styles differ from person to person, and generation to generation - so if you ask for advice, prepare to be overwhelmed with "You're doing it wrong!"  I'll be the first to admit, parenting is not easy.  Honestly, it's the toughest "job" I've ever encountered.  The most rewarding, sure, but definitely not easy.

And then you'll meet a person who just seems to be a natural, someone who can look at a kid and connect with them on a level that most people cannot.  The book How to Raise a Happy Child (and Be Happy Too) climbs into the mind of a "kid whisperer" and lets you see just how one of these naturals think.

Taryn Voget is the co-founder of the Everyday Genius Institute and the  author of six different books on strategies of genius - which led her to want to work with the Kid Whisperer.  Heather Criswell is a kid whisperer, a woman who thinks on another level completely when it comes to raising children.  With 25 years experience working with kids (more than 30,000 of them!) she uses this book to share her unique parenting approach and wisdom.  Together, these two women put together a parenting manual like no other; to let you question your parenting abilities, learn new techniques, and discover how to raise happy children.

Relish! Menu Planning Service Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I've said it before, I am a convenience momma.  With a baby on my hip, a toddler kicking me in the shins, a seven-year old wanting help with homework, and laundry that desperately needs to be folded - I barely have time to think, let alone plan a meal that my family will actually eat.  That's why I tend to stick to the same boring rotation of foods that I can prepare quickly without having to come up with something new.  Tacos, meatloaf, home-made pizza, and spaghetti all hit our table several times a month.  It works, but it's boring.

Design & Drill Take-Along Toolkit Giveaway

Toddler Toolkit Giveaway

In honor of the Little Man's 3rd birthday, I have teamed up with Educational Insights to offer a great giveaway for you guys.  Keep reading to find out how you can win a Design and Drill Take-Along Toolkit!

Happy Birthday, Sammy!

It seems unreal.  I can't believe my little man is turning 3 today.  So many memories we've made, and so many more to come!  From the 6.5 lb little bundle I brought home three years ago to the goofy stinker he's become, I wish the best for him in life, love, and happiness.

Dear Sammy,

I am so proud of you.  In your three years here, you've mastered crawling, walking, talking, dancing, and using the potty.  You captured my heart from the first time I saw you, and that love grows more and more every day.  With those expressive eyebrows and all the silly faces you make, you've brightened so many gloomy days - not just for me, but even for strangers you've only just met.

I pray that you continue being as driven and motivated as you are now throughout your entire life.  Your focus and concentration on learning and doing everything will take you so far.  I want you to know that no matter what paths you may choose in life, your Momma will be right here, supporting you fully.

Thank you for the lessons you've taught me, and the amazing memories you've given me.  I cannot wait to see what this year has in store.

I love you, my little monkey.  May your third birthday be amazing and memorable!

Love Momma

Luvs Diapers Review

Luvs DiapersWhen you have little ones, nothing seems more important (supply-wise) as diapers. I am a convenience momma, so disposables are my style of choice. And when I’m buying diapers, I look for one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, doesn't leak, and is comfortable for my baby.

That’s why Luvs are my brand of choice. Not only are they cheaper on the budget, but they are the most absorbent diapers we have ever tried. Because the little one goes to daycare, I like to make sure she wears a diaper that will prevent leak-throughs and blowouts. With nine other babies in Kaya’s class, I know that the daycare workers aren’t always able to catch a wet diaper as soon as it happens. Luvs keeps her little bottom dry by pulling the wetness into the diaper and away from her skin. I’m happy to say, she has never had a diaper rash – and I credit that to Luvs diapers.

Easy Canvas Prints Review

One thing that I wanted so bad for Christmas was a picture of all the kids to hang up in the office.  I have individual pictures, but none with all of them together.  Unfortunately, the only inexpensive place to get pictures taken here in my town shut down a few months back.  That's ok though, because Matt is amazing with a camera and snapped this gorgeous picture of all three of them:

The problem, then, was to figure out a way to get it printed and framed in a way that I would love and want to hang up.

That's where Easy Canvas Prints comes into play.  For less than $45, they offer high quality 8x10 canvas printing with minor retouching if necessary.  Of course there are many different options to choose from, that's just the one I got, and love.  Here's a screenshot from their website, EasyCanvasPrints.com that shows you the many different sizes that are available, including custom sizing!

Canvas Sizes

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect because I've never had a canvas print before, and this website claims that just by uploading your picture they can create a work of art for your home.  So sure, I was a little bit skeptical.  I have to say though, I was extremely impressed with the results.

Family

And there it is, my very own piece of art that will last for years to come and remind me of those precious memories that only your children can make.

If you want to immortalize your memories on canvas, Easy Canvas Prints offers several discounts and promotions - including 50% off canvas prints, 60% off wall displays, and a Buy One, Get One Free, all with free shipping.  Be sure to check them out!

For more custom printing options, check out BuildASign.com and AlliedShirts.com!

Gift Card Rescue

This is a sponsored post.

With Christmas coming up, most people will inevitably end up with gift cards that they will never use.  You know what I'm talking about - that $50 gift card to AMC Theaters when you have three kids and never have a chance to actually go to the movies?  Or how about that Chuck E. Cheese card that your kid got when there isn't a Chuck E. Cheese within a 75 mile radius?  Did you know that instead of letting them sit and collect dust, you can sell them?

GiftCardRescue.com provides the easiest and fastest way to get rid of unwanted gift cards. They also sell gift cards at a discount from over 400 major retailers, including Visa, American Express, Walgreens, CVS, Costco, Subway, Amazon, and T.J. Maxx.

The average household has over $300 of gift cards going unused. At GiftCardRescue.com, their goal is to reduce gift card breakage and turn those unwanted and unused gift cards into cash. In addition, they strive to help their consumers maximize their savings by offering up to 30% off on discounted gift cards to over 450 national merchants.

Order Out of Chaos Academic Planner Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Between going back to school, kids' doctors appointments, bills, blogging, and designing - I have a hard time staying organized enough to remember it all.  There are only so many sticky notes you can use before you start losing track of where you need to be and when things are due.  I desperately needed a planner of some kind to try to keep everything sorted out.

That's why I was super excited to get to review the Order Out of Chaos Academic Planner.

On the left side of this planner, there is a section to write in school subjects - comes in handy with college classes!  There is even a section at the bottom of each day for extra-curricular activities, appointments, deadlines - whatever.  Since I received this planner, I have been able to keep up with everything going on and feel much less stressed out about trying to remember every little detail!

You can check out their awesome planners at OrderOOChaos.com!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

10 Ways to Calm a Crying Baby

My poor baby girl is sick.  We're talking double ear infection, ruptured eardrum, impetigo (from the draining fluid), and pink-eye.  She's miserable - even more than she is when she is teething.  And we all know, when a baby isn't happy, she's gonna make sure everyone knows.  So how do you get a baby to stop crying?  Here are a few of my favorite tips to calm and soothe an upset baby:

Momma Without a Clue: How to Soothe a Fussy Infant

I want to be sure to say that every baby is different.  What works for my little one, may not work for yours. After deciding that the basics are covered - diaper is dry, baby isn't hungry, their clothes aren't too tight, and your baby is still crying - that's when these tips can come in handy.  Babies also respond to your own vibes, so make sure to keep your cool - tension can exacerbate the issue.  Keeping that in mind, here are ten different ways to calm an upset baby:

Hold Them Close

Your baby isn't going to be a baby for long, so this one shouldn't be a hard one to accomplish.  Sometimes all baby wants is to be held and snuggled.

Tmart Review

I was sent product to review from tmart.com in order to facilitate this article and review. The opinions expressed are my own. This notice is in accordance with the FTC and online advertising with compensation.

Have you guys heard of Tmart yet?  Tmart is a website that offers thousands of products as crazy low prices.  If you need it, Tmart probably has it.  Matt was looking for new headlights for his car - they had some.  Exactly the kind he wanted, too - 100W HID Halogen bulbs for  about 60% less than the auto parts stores.  I'm all about a good deal, and so when he ordered his headlights there was a free shipping offer if the total was over $20.  Of course that meant that I needed to add in a flower headband for Kaya and a pair of cute underwear for me...

The shipping took a little longer than we expected - but only because I didn't read about where the products were coming from.  Not a problem though, I'm patient enough to wait a little longer for discounts like that!  Because a couple of the things we had ordered were shipped from Hong Kong, there was about a three week wait until the package was at our front door.

I was contacted by their PR rep to write a review for a couple of the items they offer.  Tmart has such a huge selection, from computer components to car parts, health and beauty products, and baby stuff.  They even have Tmart RC Cars!  Sammy got an awesome little Mini-Racer that comes in a container that looks like a soda can - He loves it!  It's so neat, even Matt was down in the floor playing with it.  I think they were both impressed that the headlights (and tail lights) lit up.  After charging for 1-2 minutes, the car will run for about 10 minutes before it needs to be charged again.

And, because I'm fascinated with having a baby girl that I can dress up, I was excited to see all of the accessories that the Tmart Baby Hair Accessories category had to offer.  Kaya got the sweetest little pink Chiffon headband with a rose.
They come in a rainbow of colors, and are a steal at only $2.22 each.

I've already ordered more hair accessories for her since they're so cute and cheap!  I love the Lace Headbands they offer, and since Kaya doesn't seem to be getting hair any time soon, I'll get to put the headbands on her for at least a few more months.  (squee!!)

Anyway, Tmart's mission is to provide high quality products at low price, to provide fast, efficient order turnaround, and to provide the highest level of customer service, integrity and product value to satisfy every transaction.  They do have fantastic customer service, and even though the products are inexpensive they are great quality.  I would definitely recommend shopping at Tmart!

Ellore Femme Hair Chalk

My step-daughter has been begging me for hair chalk for Christmas.  If you don't know what Hair Chalk is, then check this out:

Ellore Femme Hair Chalk

I can see why she keeps asking for it - I think I want some too!  It's a super fun, temporary method to add some serious flair to your hair.  Since Lexi is 7, there's no way I'm going to let her play around with real hair dye and end up with horrible permanent results, but all 24 of these hair chalk colors easily wash out in the shower.

These vibrantly colored hair-chalk sticks from Ellore Femme help you easily paint rainbow hues onto hair strands. The easy-to-blend dyes are formulated with natural plant pigments, rendering the chalk non-toxic.
Usually retailing for $44.99, Momma Without a Clue readers get a special discount price of $14.99 with the promo code BL15.  That's $30 off!  Just go here to order some awesome Hair Chalk for the little girl in your life, or even for yourself!

Keratin Perfect Review

This is a sponsored post.

I've been pretty evil to my hair in the past.  I'm talking at at-home dye jobs that dried my hair out so bad that winter was the Anti-Christ.  My hair used to be so pretty and smooth... then the teenage years happened.

I've tried every shade of red imaginable, and even dyed my hair black at one point.  You can see the results of me trying to grow it back out in the bottom right picture up there.  I have fine hair anyway, just a lot of it, and all of that dye was not nice to it.  Especially when we had to strip the black, bleach it, and then dye it close to my natural color.  Take all of that hair dye and add in the damage from blow drying, crimping, and flat-ironing and my hair was just a mess.  It had gotten to the point where I went and had the traditional "mom cut" just to try to get rid of some of the dead ends.

But then I was given the opportunity to review KeratinPerfect's 30-Day At-Home Hair Smoothing System.  I am thoroughly impressed!  Not only did it make my hair smoother and shinier, but it's a lot more manageable too.  I even tried it on my step-daughter's unruly (and omg hold still, I'm trying to brush your hair!) mane.

CampusBookRentals Review

College is expensive.  There's no doubt about that.  And the cost of textbooks is so high - my next semester's books will cost almost $800 through the college bookstore.  A tip I recommend is to rent your textbooks rather than buying them.  That cuts costs down drastically.  Want to save even more?  CampusBookRentals.com can help you save up to 80% on your textbook rentals.

I can definitely recommend CampusBookRentals, because I used them for my last semester's books.  The textbooks I needed for my Abnormal Psychology and Health and Wellness classes were going to cost $272 to rent from my college bookstore.  If I were to buy them, it was going to cost over five hundred!  With two kids, there wasn't really any way I could have afforded that.  With CampusBookRentals, I was able to rent those two textbooks for only $54 and some change - more than two hundred dollars in savings.  They were in great condition, and came with a package to return them in - complete with a shipping label.  That's right, free shipping both ways.  You can receive and return your books for free - and I'm a sucker for free.

No need to worry about keeping the books in pristine condition; they actually encourage students to highlight information in the textbooks!  So useful when you're studying along with your instructor speaking way too fast for you to take notes.

They have flexible rental terms, so if you have a class that only lasts for a couple of weeks there's no need to keep your book the entire time.  My college offers "fast track" classes that only last 8 weeks instead of the entire semester, so paying for a full semester of books seems a bit much.  CampusBookRentals offers 55, 85, and 130 day rentals - or you can select your own return date!  I loved that they emailed me 30 days before my rentals were due to remind me.

Oh, and do you have old textbooks lying around that you actually bought instead of rented?  Do you think you'll actually ever use them again?  You can rent those unused textbooks to other students through their RentBack program - and make 2-4x more money than you would by selling them back to a college bookstore.

Another perk? (As if you needed more to convince you to try CampusBookRentals):
For every book rented, they donate to Operation Smile!

So what are you waiting for?  Go get your textbooks, the new semester starts in a few weeks!

Disclosure:  I was provided compensation for this post, however I full recommend their services as I use them myself.  My opinions were in no way changed by the compensation I received.

Morning Routine when 3 Children are Involved

Ah mornings... You know, that time between when your kids get up until the time when your brain starts functioning?  Mornings start pretty early around here; the 6:30 alarm clock usually goes off while I'm feeding the baby and begging the two year old to go back to sleep for 10 more minutes.  Then the 7 year old will stumble out of her room with a "Good morning, Jamie," and I'll have to actually start my day.

I'm not a morning person by any means.  I'm more like the grumpy, frumpy housewife with her hair all matted and standing on end, standing in a stained up bathrobe, sipping coffee, with a kid hanging off my leg.  If that doesn't paint a pretty mental image.  Mornings hurt.  After being up twenty-eight times in the middle of the night taking care of feedings, diaper changes, cuddles, nightmares, and spit-up, I just don't feel like being a "rise and shine" kind of person.  Really, I just want to ignore the cries and tantrums and go back to sleep.

But parenting doesn't work like that.  Instead, I've found a way to cope with early mornings.  Routine.

Immortal Sleep Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I have problems sleeping.  Not just because I'm a momma with a baby that is up several times during the night, but due to my fibromyalgia.  So when I had the opportunity to review an all-natural sleep aid, I was super excited.  Immortal Sleep helped me fall asleep quickly, and gave me that deep sleep that my body has craved for years.  The best part was that I didn't feel drowsy or crabby the next day like I would from most sleep aids.

Wake up refreshed and ready for the day! Be reminded of how great it feels to get an uninterrupted good night’s sleep. For people who have: difficulty falling asleep, poor quality sleep, irritability, agitation, fatigue, and lack of focus. This safe and effective, non habit forming formula has no side effects and no next day drowsiness.
